On the afternoon of March 14, 2025, non-degree international students gathered in the Chinese Traditional Culture Teaching and Practice Room of the International Education College to embark on a fascinating cultural journey—the Lacquer Fan crafting experience. This art form originates from ancient lacquer techniques. During the process, artisans drip natural lacquer into water, where the fluidity of the water and the viscosity of the lacquer act to create unique textures and patterns on the surface. Students then gently dipped fans into the water, allowing the lacquer to adhere and form one-of-a-kind artworks that blended traditional craftsmanship with personal creativity.
